North Bendale Junior Public School

We challenge. We question. We learn.

North Bendale opened in 1960 and is located near McCowan Road and Ellesmere, in the north corner of the Bendale Community.  We are a unique small community school and some of our approximately 150 students are the second generation from their family to attend North Bendale.  An environment has been established that ensures that all members of the school community are treated with respect, courtesy and dignity.  We want our students to enjoy success and be inspired to be lifelong learners.  We have established very rewarding partnerships with Toronto Police Services, Toronto Public Health, secondary schools, and local colleges and universities.

North Bendale teachers strongly believe that teaching through inquiry provides enriched opportunities for students to gain skills that will prepare them for the needs of the 21st century. We focus on Global Competencies as a foundation for our students as they develop their thinking and their confidence in learning. The Global Competencies are: Communication; Collaboration; Critical Thinking; Creativity; Citizenship; and Character Education.
